Overview
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) was a federal benefit administered by the FCC that provided monthly internet discounts and, through participating providers, a one-time discount on laptops, tablets, or desktop computers for eligible households. Congress did not extend funding; the FCC announced wind-down and stopped new enrollments after February 7, 2024, with the benefit ending for enrolled households after April 2024 unless otherwise stated in official FCC guidance. FAQ
Can I still get an ACP free tablet?
No. ACP closed to new enrollments in 2024. Any website promising a new ACP tablet is likely outdated or misleading.
What replaced ACP?
There is no identical federal replacement with the same device discount as of our last verification. Look at Lifeline, state/local initiatives, and nonprofit refurbishers.
